"Reaper" is the fifth episode of The Shannara Chronicles.
Plot[]
Amberle, Wil and Eretria are forced to overcome their differences to survive the perils of their quest, including the nightmarish Reaper. At the palace, Ander attempts to recruit help from an unlikely ally to find the Dagda Mor.
Summary[]
The episode begins with a flashback to the night when Prince Aine died protecting the King.
In the present, Amberle and company are traveling through the forest when the Rovers attack and take them captive yet again. The group separates leaving Wil and the guards tied up as Cephelo takes the Elfstones and Amberle. Cephelo almost rapes Amberle but she is saved by Eretria at the last possible moment. The two return to rescue Wil and Eretria gives him back the stolen Elfstones. They continue on their journey but come face to face with a large Demon. Wil is unable to use the Elfstones to defeat it, but Cephelo apparently manages to blow up the Demon with barrels of gas.
Meanwhile back in Arborlon, Allanon and Bandon use Bandon's gift of sight to communicate with the Ellcrys. The tree shows him a vision of Allanon's and Amberle's death. It also allows the Dagda Mor to communicate with him and the Demon ends up imprisoning Bandon in a dream. Allanon manages to free Bandon by breaking his contact from the tree.
Arion speaks with the King about the succession of the throne. Eventine doesn't want to resign which causes Arion to stab him. The king falls to the floor and lies dead. Arion then changes his form and the Changeling takes the throne as it says, "Long live the King."
