Tamlin Leah is a character created for The Shannara Chronicles, based on a character of the same name from The World of Shannara companion book. She is the powerful and cunning Queen of Leah, the only human kingdom in the Four Lands.
Biography[]
Queen Tamlin is a ruthless weapons manufacturer with a strategic mind and a talent for manipulating people. She aims to use her royal clout to solidify a political alliance with the Elves, specifically by marrying off her daughter Lyria to their King, Ander Elessedil.
Changes Made for the TV Adaptation[]
- Although no character like Tamlin exists in the Shannara novels, there is a Tamlin Leah in The World of Shannara companion book. Billed as a book co-authored by Terry Brooks and Teresa Patterson, the work is mostly the creation of Patterson and illustrator David Cherry and should probably not be considered canon. In the book, Tamlin Leah is a man and one of the first people to settle the Highlands of Leah. After the First War of the Races, most of the Race of Man, who had lost the war, had fled into the deep Southland. A small group led by Tamlin Leah did not venture that far south but instead stopped when they found an isolated, beautiful upland just south of Rainbow Lake. Some claimed that the Tamlin and his group stopped there because they found the land welcoming and stocked with game, while others claimed that Tamlin Leah and his band had been among the few who had opposed the Race of Man's attempt to dominate the Four Lands.
