This is the wiki's rules page. Its purpose is to list the rules contributors must abide by in both chat and the main wiki, and what the consequences are for infringement of a rule.

Each violation is listed separately. Please take the time to read through this page.

Please note that "I haven't read the rules" and so forth is not an excuse for rulebreaking.

VandalismEdit

Vandalism is defined as the following:

Contributions to any page, of any namespace, with malicious intent to clearly deface the page. It is the blocking administrator's discretion as to whether to warn users who are in the "gray area," but it is their duty to deal with users who are clearly vandalizing. If a contribution is in the aforementioned "gray area," a user may be left a warning on their Message Wall, though this will not count as an actual consequence.

"Gray area" issuesEdit

These issues do not usually warrant a consequence, though they may if they are continued for malicious purposes.

  • Exceedingly bad grammar and/or spelling
  • Not following proper formatting
  • Contributions in another language (before contributing, please note that this wiki's main language is American English)
  • Whimsical, but not necessarily detracting, content (for example, captioning a picture of a Muten with "Isn't it cute?")

Definite vandalismEdit

These actions all count as "definite vandalism," and are most certainly in bad faith.

  • Replacing content on a page with unrelated content
  • Meaningless gibberish
  • Rude or inappropriate content (please see Harassment)

Consequences for vandalismEdit

Please note that anonymous editors are not subject to these and will be blocked without warning, as they have no reliable method of being contacted. Create an account here.

  • First offense: a warning (please deliver via Message Wall) and a ban of three days
  • Second offense: a warning and a ban of two weeks
  • Third offense: a warning and a permanent ban

HarassmentEdit

Harrassment is defined as the following:

Interactions with any user with malicious intent and successful damaging of their emotional state (i.e. their feelings). Harassment must be on purpose and the reaction must be reasonable (i.e. a user who is insulted by the word "pineapples" is probably not sincerely hurt). Harassment is not justified even if vengeful.

If a user claims to not have intended insult, or was just joking, the administrator handling the issue should decide as to whether it is in good or bad faith.

Consequences for harassmentEdit

  • First offense: a warning (please deliver via Message Wall)
  • Second offense: a warning and a ban of one week
  • Third offense: a warning and a ban of one month
  • Fourth offense: a warning and an indefinite ban

Inappropriate contentEdit

Inappropriate content is defined as the following:

Any content, posted within chat or the main area of the wiki, that would gain a movie a "PG-13" rating. This includes topics such as:

  • Sexual content (such as pornography or references to sexual actions or items, especially in a lustful sense)
  • Reference to exceedingly violent situations
  • "Rude words" not on the following list:
    • Hell
    • Damn
    • Crap
    • Bloody (note that this is only considered foul language based upon the culture of the hearer)
    • God (note that this is only considered foul language based upon religion of the hearer)
  • Shock sites and/or screamers (links to sites intended to cause shock or surprise to a viewer)

Punishments for inappropriate contentEdit

Please note that these may differ based on the severity of the content.

  • First offense: a warning
  • Second offense: a warning and a one-week ban
  • Third offense: a warning and a three-month ban
  • Fourth offense: a warning and an indefinite ban
