Tagwen is a character in the High Druid of Shannara trilogy. He is the personal aide of Grianne Ohmsford, the Ard Rhys of Paranor, and remains her loyal ally after a mutinous faction deposes her.
Biography[]
When the insubordinate Druids sent Grianne into the Forbidding, Tagwen realised the danger and warned Kermadec, the Troll Maturen protecting Paranor, that the Druids were planning to put the blame on him.
Tagwen then went on to try to find Grianne's brother Bek Ohmsford in Patch Run, hoping he would be able to find the Ard Rhys, but instead found Bek's son Pen Ohmsford. He then joined up with Pen to flee from the Druid Terek Molt in Pen's small airship. After a meeting with the King of the Silver River, Tagwen and Pen met up with Ahren Elessedil and Ahren's niece Khyber in the Elven village of Emberen in the Westland. He travelled to the Northland with this new group on another airship under the command of the Rover Captain Gar Hatch, suffering from sickness for much of the journey.
